The fact is that the majority of our thoughts and actions are on autopilot. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing either. Our habits, routines, impulses, and reactions carry us through our lives so we don’t have to stop and think about it every time we wipe our ass or start a car.
The problem is when we’re on autopilot for so long that we forget we’re on autopilot. Because when we’re not even aware of our own habits, routines, impulses, and reactions, then we no longer control them they control us.

In a nutshell, we are stuck in a time loop, and it’s our choice whether we will continue to be in this loop or not. One person with self-awareness is able to exercise a little meta-cognition and say, “Hmm… every time my sister calls me and asks for money, I end up drinking a lot of vodkas.
We’re not exactly sure what’s going on here, but we’re pretty sure that we are in a time loop or something.
We were actually planning on buying a house once, and were pretty sure we had to be one of those people who didn’t like their house when they bought it. Being stuck in a time loop sucks, but at least it doesn’t look like it’s all the time.
I guess its good we didnt have to buy a house, because I dont think we would have made it through the whole game without a house, and we would have been able to have a lot more fun. We’d have had to do a lot of time traveling, go on a safari, build a bunch of cool things, and we wouldn’t have had any problems with the houses taking up the whole screen.
The other side of this coin is that the homes are the best places to be stuck in these time loops. They’re the most obvious places to be stuck and therefore the most likely to have a fight. It’s also the most likely to have a good party time.
As the developer, I would say that the biggest problem we’ve had is trying to figure out the game’s narrative. We’ve had a few people say they had no idea the game was going to be this long. As it turns out, the game is actually about the game. The game is about the time loop, and this story we’ve been working on over the last four years.
