Chiba Institute of Technology is a new, private college founded in 2008 in the city of Chiba, Japan. Chiba Institute of Technology has over 1,300 students (that’s a lot!), and has a very small campus that is located in the city of Chiba.
It’s a private school, so there’s not much in the way of government funding, but the school will be opening its own campus in the spring of 2011. The school will be more than doubling its size by the time of its first graduation ceremony.
Chiba is a city that is very different from most places in Japan. Much of the city is on a mountain and there’s a lot of trees and greenery. It’s also the home city of the legendary samurai chieftain, Hideyoshi. The school was founded in 2008 and aims to be an educational institution that does away with the school system and focuses on the “studying” part of education. Chiba’s main focus is in science and engineering.
