I had the pleasure of working for a year or so as a business manager for the Rutgers Office of Internal Auditor. At the end of my one year, I was asked to head up the office of Internal Auditor, which is a small group of four people in the administration of the office. This was the first time I had ever been on such an exciting (and daunting) position.
The office of Internal Auditor is responsible for overseeing the internal audit department of Rutgers’ Office of Internal Audits, which is the state agency that audits and investigates all of the organizations it serves. It is also responsible for ensuring that the organization has a sound financial situation so that it does not have to resort to more costly methods (such as cutting staff or closing offices) in order to save money. It is also responsible for ensuring that every department (administration, research, law, etc.
The role of the office of internal audits is to “monitor and evaluate the overall financial soundness of the Rutgers Office of Internal Audits.” This means that the office is responsible for ensuring that all of the organization’s business operations are in order so they can remain profitable. This includes the financial statements, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and all accounts payable and receivable.
The most important point is that, when people think about how much money they get from the office, they don’t know what to make of it. The good news for the rest of us is that as a business, it is not doing things all the time. The bad news is that it is not doing things all the time because it is having a good time. You might get paid by a company that is not doing things all the time, but are doing things all the time.
