The most obvious change is probably the size of the machines themselves. In the 1960s, the average size of a production line might have been about half a mile. Now it’s about half a mile. In the 1970s, it was maybe a mile, and now it’s a mile. In the 1950s, it was maybe a half-mile, and now it’s a mile.
